Welcome to another year in Kauri. I am excited about what this year is going to hold for us. We are starting the year a bit different with the mandating of face masks in classroom and indoor spaces 😷 but we will make it work and have a good time doing it. I hope everyone had a relaxing time over the Christmas break and ready to tackle another year with enthusiasm and happiness 🙋

Learning to DRIVE Our Chromebook's More Efficiently!

We are learning to navigate our devices and Google apps to help us to do things faster.

Today we learned that we could find these Google tools when we go to our

waffle on our Chromebooks:

• DRIVE
• Gmail

We can use bookmarks to make it quicker and easier to access our learning sites. 

We checked we had bookmarked:

• our DRIVE
• Kauri Class Site
• Waitara Central School Site
• Kauri Class Blog

Then we opened a Google Doc and wrote about 'us'.

Mr Petersen showed us that teachers and Whaea Vickie can see the work that is on our DRIVE and anything else that we do online using Hāpara. This is to help teachers support us to manage ourselves online, kind of like like checking books and desks!

We learned how to insert a picture onto our Doc with our Chromebook camera.

Our Kawa of Care

We are learning to take care of our Chromebooks. Our Kawa of Care is a document every learner must read, that tells us how to do that.

We used a Jamboard to wonder about how we would look after our chromebooks when:

• using our chromebooks at school
• moving our chromebooks in the classroom
• taking our chromebooks outside or home 

We used Google Drawings to create a infographic to show 'How We Take Care of Our Chromebooks'
